… it’s that time of year again. The first day of 2007 is only 8 days away. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since last Christmas. It feels just like yesterday. Heh, I guess once you get older.. days seem to go by faster. Here are a couple of blogs I wrote last year, my blog talking about what I got last year and my 2005 Christmas review. I’ll be sure to blog a 2006 review this year. I improved on Dance Dance Revolution since I played DDR Extreme 2. I used to be a light player but after about 1.5 years playing, I now play on heavy mode.
Viva Pinata for the Xbox 360 – Rare.. you’ve done it again. Take a cast of cartoony looking characters and make one hell of a game! I questioned this game many times when it was announced. Rare had a rocky start when they started making games for Microsoft so it was kinda hard to trust their games nowadays unlike the glory days, (Nintendo days). I didn’t find Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo: Elements of Power as enjoyable as Goldeneye 007 or Banjo-Kazooie. But with Viva Pinata, I think Rare has finally redeemed themselves. I’ve been a Sims fan ever since I first played Sim City 2000 for the Playstation. From there I went on to Sim Theme Park and The Sims for the Playstation 2. Since Viva Pinata plays like The Sims, I might find some liking in this title. I’ve never played Viva Pinata before but by all the reviews I heard, this game looks too good to pass down. I also like how Rare brought a little Banjo-Kazooie to this game. It should bring back lots of memories.
Gears of War for the Xbox 360 – Wow.. where do I start with Gears? At first, it was getting a little…ok, hugely overhyped by many Xbox fanboys which was kinda annoying. So if I said this game was awesome I’d look like a mirror image of them. I first heard about Gears of War from one of my good friends. He said one of the developers, I’m assuming CliffyB, said Gears of War was influence by Resident Evil 4. I played Resident Evil 4 for the first time this year and it was simply awesome. But just because Gears is influenced by one of the greatest games of all time nessesarely mean it’s going to turn out as one of the greatest games of all time. Does it? I saw the demo at E3 and I wan’t that into it. The main character runs, covers, and shoots so I had a lot of second thoughts about how this game was going to acually play out. One of my good friends bought the Gears near lauch (or “Emergence Day”) and invited me over. I played some co-op and a little bit of online. I played it, it was fun, I added it to my list.
Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix for the Playstation 2 – I loved Midnight Club 2 and I never got the chance to play Midnight Club 3. It has one of my favorite cars, the Saleen S7, as an unlockable vehicle and Remix has stages from Midnight Club 2 so I should enjoy this game. At a $20 dollar price tag, it’s hard to let this game go.
And that about ends this entry. Thanks for reading and happy holidays!
